1 Corinthians 1:22

[GNT] Jews want miracles for proof, and Greeks look for wisdom.

[BBE] For because, by the purpose of God, the world, with all its wisdom, had not the knowledge of God, it was God's pleasure, by so foolish a thing as preaching, to give salvation to those who had faith in him.

[KJV] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

[NKJV] For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

[KJ21] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom;

[NASB] For indeed Jews ask for (Or confirming miracles)signs and Greeks search for wisdom;

[NRSV] For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom,

[WEB] For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,

[ESV] For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,

[NIV] Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,

[NIrV] God wisely planned that the world would not know him through its own wisdom. It pleased God to use the foolish things we preach to save those who believe.

[HCSB] For the Jews ask for signs and the Greeks seek wisdom,

[CSB] For the Jews ask for signs and the Greeks seek wisdom,

[AMP] For while Jews [demandingly] ask for signs and miracles and Greeks pursue philosophy and wisdom,

[NLT] It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom.

[YLT] Since also Jews ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,
