(太27:24)

[和合本] 彼拉多见说也无济于事,反要生乱,就拿水在众人面前洗手,说:“流这义人的血,罪不在我,你们承当吧!”

Matthew 27:24

[GNT] When Pilate saw that it was no use to go on, but that a riot might break out, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, "I am not responsible for the death of this man! This is your doing!"

[BBE] So when Pilate saw that he was able to do nothing, but that trouble was working up, he took water and, washing his hands before the people, said, The blood of this upright man is not on my hands: you are responsible.
