[和合本] 于是那些要拷问保罗的人就离开他去了。千夫长既知道他是罗马人,又因为捆绑了他,也害怕了。

Acts 22:29

[GNT] At once the men who were going to question Paul drew back from him; and the commander was frightened when he realized that Paul was a Roman citizen and that he had put him in chains.

[BBE] And the chief captain said, I got Roman rights for myself at a great price. And Paul said, But I had them by birth.

[KJV] Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
