[和合本] 大卫说:“孩子还活着,我禁食哭泣,因为我想,或者耶和华怜恤我,使孩子不死也未可知。

[当代修] 大卫说:“不错,孩子活着的时候我禁食、哀哭,因为我想也许耶和华会向我开恩,让他活命。

[现代修] 大卫说:“是的,孩子活着的时候,我禁食哀哭;因为我想上主可能怜悯我,不让孩子死。

[GNT] "Yes," David answered, "I did fast and weep while he was still alive. I thought that the LORD might be merciful to me and not let the child die.

[BBE] And he said, While the child was still living I went without food and gave myself up to weeping: for I said, Who is able to say that the Lord will not have mercy on me and give the child life?

[KJV] And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
