[和合本] 押沙龙活着的时候,在王谷立了一根石柱,因他说:“我没有儿子为我留名。”他就以自己的名称那石柱叫押沙龙柱,直到今日。

[当代修] 押沙龙生前没有儿子为他留名,所以他曾在王谷立了一根石柱,以自己的名字命名,称为“押沙龙柱”,沿用至今。

[现代修] 押沙龙生前曾在王谷为自己立了一个碑;因为他没有儿子可以继承他的名,所以为自己给那碑命名为押沙龙。直到今天,它还叫押沙龙纪念碑。

[GNT] During his lifetime Absalom had built a monument for himself in King's Valley, because he had no son to keep his name alive. So he named it after himself, and to this day it is known as Absalom's Monument.
