(王下18:26)

[和合本] 希勒家的儿子以利亚敬和舍伯那并约亚,对拉伯沙基说:“求你用亚兰言语和仆人说话,因为我们懂得;不要用犹大言语和我们说话,达到城上百姓的耳中。”

[新译本] 希勒家的儿子以利亚敬、舍伯那和约亚对拉伯沙基说:“请用亚兰语和你的仆人们说话,因为我们听得懂;不要用犹大语和我们说话,免得传入在城墙上的人民的耳中。”

[当代修] 以利亚敬、舍伯那和约亚对亚述的将军说:“求你用亚兰语跟仆人们说话,我们都听得懂。求你不要用希伯来语跟我们说话,免得城墙上的人听见。”

[现代修] 于是,以利亚敬、舍伯那,和约亚对那大将说:“先生,请用亚兰语跟我们说话,我们听得懂。请不要用希伯来语,因为城楼上的人民都在听。”

[GNT] Then Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah told the official, "Speak Aramaic to us, sir. We understand it. Don't speak Hebrew; all the people on the wall are listening."

[BBE] Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna and Joah said to the Rab-shakeh, Will you kindly make use of the Aramaean language in talking to your servants, for we are used to it, and do not make use of the Jews' language in the hearing of the people on

[KJV] Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews' language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

[NKJV] Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, Shebna, and Joah said to [the] Rabshakeh, "Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand [it;] and do not speak to us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people who [are] on the wall."
