(代下28:23)

[和合本] 他祭祀攻击他的大马士革之神,说:“因为亚兰王的神帮助他们,我也献祭与他,他好帮助我。”但那些神使他和以色列众人败亡了。

[当代修] 竟去祭拜打败他的大马士革人的神明,说:“既然亚兰王的神明帮助了亚兰人,我要向这些神明献祭,以便它们帮助我。”但那些神明导致了他和全体以色列人的灭亡。

2 Chronicles 28:23

[GNT] He offered sacrifices to the gods of the Syrians, who had defeated him. He said, "The Syrian gods helped the kings of Syria, so if I sacrifice to them, they may help me too." This brought disaster on him and on his nation.

[BBE] For he made offerings to the gods of Damascus, who were attacking him, and said, Because the gods of the kings of Aram are giving them help, I will make offerings to them so that they may give me help. But they were the cause of his downfall, and of that

[KJV] For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
