1 Peter 4:4

[GNT] And now the heathen are surprised when you do not join them in the same wild and reckless living, and so they insult you.

[BBE] Because for long enough, in times past, we have been living after the way of the Gentiles, given up to the desires of the flesh, to drinking and feasting and loose behaviour and unclean worship of images;

[KJV] Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

[NKJV] In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with [them] in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of [you.]

[KJ21] wherein they think it strange that you run not with them to the same dissolute excess, speaking evil of you,

[NASB] In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same excesses of (Or reckless abandon)debauchery, and they slander you;

[NRSV] They are surprised that you no longer join them in the same excesses of dissipation, and so they blaspheme.

[WEB] They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming.

[ESV] With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;

[NIV] They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.

[NIrV] You have spent enough time in the past doing what ungodly people choose to do. You lived a wild life. You longed for evil things. You got drunk. You went to wild parties. You worshiped statues of gods. The Lord hates that.

[HCSB] In regard to this, they are surprised that you don't plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation-- and they slander you.

[CSB] In regard to this, they are surprised that you don't plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation-- and they slander you.

[AMP] They are astonished and think it very queer that you do not now run hand in hand with them in the same excesses of dissipation, and they abuse [you].

[NLT] Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.

[YLT] in which they think it strange -- your not running with them to the same excess of dissoluteness, speaking evil,
