[BBE] My brothers, I may say to you openly that David came to his death, and was put in the earth, and his resting-place is with us today.

[KJV] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

[NKJV] "Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

[KJ21] Therefore, being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn an oath to him that from the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne,

[NASB] So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one (Lit of the fruit of his loins)of his descendants on his throne,

[NRSV] Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would put one of his descendants on his throne.

[WEB] Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

[ESV] Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,

[NIV] But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.

[NIrV] "Brothers, you can be sure that King David died. He was buried. His tomb is still here today.

[HCSB] Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne.

[CSB] Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne.

[AMP] Being however a prophet, and knowing that God had sealed to him with an oath that He would set one of his descendants on his throne, [II Sam. 7:12-16; Ps. 132:11.]

[NLT] But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David's own descendants would sit on his throne.

[YLT] a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne,
