[和合本] 约押说:“我指着永生的 神起誓,你若不说戏耍的那句话,今日早晨百姓就回去,不追赶弟兄了。”

[新标点] 约押说:“我指着永生的 神起誓:你若不说戏耍的那句话,今日早晨百姓就回去,不追赶弟兄了。”

[和合修] 约押说:“我指着永生的 神起誓:你若没有这么说,百姓就必继续追赶弟兄,直到早晨【“你若没有这么说…早晨”或译“你若不曾那么说,百姓就不会从早晨起来追赶他们的弟兄了。”】。”

[新译本] 约押说:“我指着永活的上帝起誓,如果你们没有说过比武的话,大家必在早晨的时候离去,不再追赶自己的兄弟。”

[当代修] 约押说:“我凭永活的上帝起誓,你要是不这样说,我们会一直追到天亮。”

[现代修] 约押说:“我指着永生的上帝发誓,如果你刚才不说话,我的部队会继续追击你们,一直追到明天早晨。”

[吕振中] 约押说:“我指着永活的上帝来起誓:你若没有说话,众民非到明日早晨是不会停止不追赶族弟兄的。”

[思高本] 约阿布答说:“上主永在!若你不发言,众人直到早晨,连一个也不会停止追赶自己的兄弟!”

[GNT] "I swear by the living God," Joab answered, "that if you had not spoken, my men would have kept on chasing you until tomorrow morning."

[BBE] And Joab said, By the living God, if you had not given the word, the people would have gone on attacking their countrymen till the morning.

[KJV] And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

[NKJV] And Joab said, "[As] God lives, unless you had spoken, surely then by morning all the people would have given up pursuing their brethren."

[NIV] Joab answered, "As surely as God lives, if you had not spoken, the men would have continued the pursuit of their brothers until morning."

[NIrV] Joab answered, "It's a good thing you spoke up. If you hadn't, the men would have kept on chasing their fellow Israelites until morning. And that's just as sure as God is alive."
