[吕振中] 再者,先前的人(希腊文:他们)被立为祭司,是人数众多,因被死拦阻而不能长期任职;

Hebrews 7:23

[GNT] There is another difference: there were many of those other priests, because they died and could not continue their work.

[BBE] By so much is it a better agreement which we have through Jesus.

[KJV] And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

[NKJV] Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.

[KJ21] And those priests truly were many, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death;

[NASB] (Lit The greater number have become priests...)The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing;

[NRSV] Furthermore, the former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office;

[WEB] Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death.

[ESV] The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office,

[NIV] Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;

[NIrV] Because of that oath, Jesus makes the promise of a better covenant certain.

[HCSB] Now many have become [Levitical] priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office.

[CSB] Now many have become [Levitical] priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office.

[AMP] [Again, the former successive line of priests] was made up of many, because they were each prevented by death from continuing [perpetually in office];

[NLT] There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office.

[YLT] and those indeed are many who have become priests, because by death they are hindered from remaining;
