哥林多后书1章8节

(林后1:8)

[和合本] 弟兄们,我们不要你们不晓得,我们从前在亚西亚遭遇苦难,被压太重,力不能胜,甚至连活命的指望都绝了。

[新标点] 弟兄们,我们不要你们不晓得,我们从前在亚细亚遭遇苦难,被压太重,力不能胜,甚至连活命的指望都绝了;

[吕振中] 兄弟们,我们不愿意你们不明白我们从前在亚西亚所受的苦难,就是:极受重压,出于力所能胜之外,甚至到了绝望,连活着的希望都没有;

[思高本] (颂谢的原因)弟兄们!我们深愿你们知道,我们在亚细亚所受的磨难:我们受到了非人力所能忍受的重压,甚至连活的希望也没有了;

[文理本] 兄弟乎、我欲尔知、我在亚西亚遭难、见压特甚、势不克胜、至绝生望、

2 Corinthians 1:8

[GNT] We want to remind you, friends, of the trouble we had in the province of Asia. The burdens laid upon us were so great and so heavy that we gave up all hope of staying alive.

[BBE] And our hope for you is certain; in the knowledge that as you take part in the troubles, so you will take part in the comfort.

[KJV] For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

[NKJV] For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.

[KJ21] For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were pressed beyond measure, beyond strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life.

[NASB] For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in (I.e., west coast province of Asia Minor)Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.

[NRSV] We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of the affliction we experienced in Asia; for we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself.

[WEB] For we don't desire to have you uninformed, brothers,[*] concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.[*The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."]

[ESV] For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

[NIV] We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.

[NIrV] Our hope for you remains firm. We know that you suffer just as we do. In the same way, God comforts you just as he comforts us.

[HCSB] For we don't want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in the province of Asia: we were completely overwhelmed-- beyond our strength-- so that we even despaired of life.

[CSB] For we don't want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in the province of Asia: we were completely overwhelmed-- beyond our strength-- so that we even despaired of life.

[AMP] For we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about the affliction and oppressing distress which befell us in [the province of] Asia, how we were so utterly and unbearably weighed down and crushed that we despaired even of life [itself].

[NLT] We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it.

[YLT] For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of our tribulation that happened to us in Asia, that we were exceedingly burdened above [our] power, so that we despaired even of life;
