Philemon 1:14

[GNT] However, I do not want to force you to help me; rather, I would like for you to do it of your own free will. So I will not do anything unless you agree.

[BBE] Though my desire was to keep him with me, to be my servant in the chains of the good news, in your place:

[KJV] But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

[NKJV] But without your consent I wanted to do nothing, that your good deed might not be by compulsion, as it were, but voluntary.

[KJ21] but without thy mind would I do nothing, that thy goodness should not be, as it were, of necessity but willingly.

[NASB] but I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that your goodness would not be, in effect, by compulsion, but of your own free will.

[NRSV] but I preferred to do nothing without your consent, in order that your good deed might be voluntary and not something forced.

[WEB] But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.

[ESV] but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own free will.

[NIV] But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced.

[NIrV] I would have liked to keep him with me. Then he could have taken your place in helping me while I'm being held by chains because of the good news.

[HCSB] But I didn't want to do anything without your consent, so that your good deed might not be out of obligation, but of your own free will.

[CSB] But I didn't want to do anything without your consent, so that your good deed might not be out of obligation, but of your own free will.

[AMP] But it has been my wish to do nothing about it without first consulting you and getting your consent, in order that your benevolence might not seem to be the result of compulsion or of pressure but might be voluntary [on your part].

[NLT] But I didn't want to do anything without your consent. I wanted you to help because you were willing, not because you were forced.

[YLT] and apart from thy mind I willed to do nothing, that as of necessity thy good deed may not be, but of willingness,
